DOA (Dioctyl Adipate) is an organic compound, wich is a colourless oily liquid. It is derived from 2-ethylhexanol, decanol, isodecanol, etc. It is used as a plasticizer in PVC paste and pulp mixtures and as an additive in many other processes and it can be found in many end products including PVC soles for shoes and slippers, synthetic leather, waterproof membranes, paints, varnishes, floor coverings, door mats and hoses. In this specific case it is necessary to take into account the fact that it is already out of date, which can have an influence on the product's characteristics and consequently on its final application.
